Hello Everybody!
Ed here, with more news from the Mediterranean. Well, I guess I can say that the holiday rush is upon us - this email was supposed to go out two days ago... my apologies. I'll try to stay on schedule from now on. Many thanks to all those who were able to join us for our 35th anniversary sale and tasting. Tim Laskey and I had a great time going mano-a-mano in wine sales (I kept the record intact, beating his numbers - by only two bottles.) Names have been drawn and gift certificates written. Winners are being notified. Thanks again to all of you who entered our drawing.
Boy, is it cold!
But even though winter has arrived with a sub freezing week, I hope that most of you will brave the elements and join us this Saturday, December 11th, from Noon to 3PM for the final pre-holiday tasting. At that time, Ray Safer of Classic Wines will present some of his favorites selected for your holiday enjoyment. Oregon, California, Australia, Italy, and France will all be represented. I know that you'll enjoy Ray's choices (including an '07 Châteauneuf-du-Pape). See you all Saturday.
Quick Note:
It's a short season, but we've just received another shipment of fresh chestnuts, air-freighted in from Italy! So many of the ethnic comfort foods of our youth have become the gourmet foods of today. No matter what you call them, you'll find them here at Mediterranean Marketplace.
Holiday Preparations:
Don't forget to call in your orders for party platters, meats, specialty breads, cookie platters, and everything else that we can provide to make your holiday entertaining easier. Let us do the work so you can enjoy your holiday season.
As always, thanks for shopping with us, -Ed.
