In 1975, after working in his family’s butcher shop for many years, Ed Hyder left Grafton Hill and opened up a new concept. His 300 square foot shop on Park Avenue would initially cater to the Armenian, Greek, and Middle Eastern population of Worcester; bringing them traditional foods from their native lands. Four decades and four locations later, the Hyder family is still here, but now, they offer thousands of products from all over the globe, as well as a variety of local products. What was once a tiny shop, now holds the most unique wine collection in Worcester, as well as a kitchen that produces fresh meats, salads, dips, and soups that feed the foodies of Central Mass.
